Didymocyrtis ramalinae (teleomorph) Growth type lichenicolous. Photographs on Ramalina farinacea On thalli and apothecia of Ramalina species, usually on Ramalina fastigiata Both the teleomorph and the anamorph occur and cause necrosis of affected areas of the host thallus. The teleomorph has immersed black perithecia with paler ostioles. The asci are 8-spored, spores dark brown, usually 3-septate (occasionally 1 or 2 septate), (13-)14-20 × 5-7 µm. Micrographs showing the spores below. The anamorph has hyaline conidia, 5-7 × 3-4 µm, ellipsoid and with a small guttule at each end. Similar: Endococcus ramalinarius.
