Ramalinaceae
Ramalina calicaris Growth type fruticose Chemical results negative. Can be locally abundant on well-lit, nutrient-rich branches and twigs. Often coastal. Thallus upright or pendant with narrow lobes forming a single deep channel. Soredia absent, the apothecia are marginal and usually subterminal. Spores are straight, 1-septate 10-16 x 5-7 µm. Can be confused with narrow-lobed morphs of Ramalina fraxinea but this has kidney-shaped spores. |
