Sphinctrina turbinata # Lichenicolous fungus. Photographs on Pertusaria pertusa Usually parasitic on Pertusaria pertusa on old, well-lit parkland trees but occasionally recorded from Pertusaria hymenea and P. leioplaca Very small black apothecia protrude slightly above the host thallus, stalk very short or absent, capitulum irregularly globose, K+ red. Asci 8-spored, the spores simple, +/- globose, dark brown, 5-7.5 x 4.5-6.5 µm Similar: Sphinctrina leucopoda. Apothecia distinctly stalked, all parts K-.
