Arthopyrenia analepta Growth type crustose Chemical reations negative Early coloniser on smooth, +/- shaded bark of twigs and small branches Thin or evanescent non-lichenised thallus without orange colour when scratched (Trentepohlia absent). Large, oval perithecia 0.3-0.6 mm long, base of discs with halo-like shadow, pycnidia occasional. Asci 8-spored,the spores 1-septate with a wide, colourless perispore, 15-23 x 5.5-8 µm.
