Alyxoria varia (Opegrapha varia) Growth type crustose Chemical results negative. Hymenium I+ red. Epithecium brown, K- Mainly lowland on shaded trees with rough, basic bark Very variable. Thin grey or grey-brown thallus, the lirellae usually simple. Disc usually +/- fully open, often with green or grey pruina. Spores 4-6 septate, brown with age, 20-35 x 5-8 µm. Microscope photograph below. Similar: O. herbarum. Discs less open, rarely pruinose. Spores 3-septate. Opegrapha xerica. Epithecium green, spores 3-5 septate |
