Hyperphyscia adglutinata Growth type foliose Chemical reactions negative Can be frequent on dusty, nutrient-enriched shaded trees and rocks. Often found in the 'canine-zone' at the base of trees in urban areas. Occasionally host to Lichenochora hyperphysciae Small, adpressed, greenish-brown thallus can spread over large areas, upper surface with yellowish-green soredia. Under surface white with some white rhizines. Apothecia infrequent, discs brown with smooth, swollen margins. Mature spores brown, 1-septate, 10-20 x 7-9 µm. Micrograph below.
