Found on nutrient-rich bark, fence posts and occasionally on rocks. A rapid coloniser, spreading eastwards due to reduction in air pollution levels.

Tufted or layered minute yellowish lobes, whitish below with scattered simple white rhizines. Deeply incised with soredia forming on lobe margins and sometimes spreading over thallus. Apothecia infrequent, yellowish with roughened margins.
