Incertae sedis
Lichenochora galligena # Growth type lichenicolous. Photographs on Physcia adscendens. Immersed perithecia develop in irregularly-shaped galls on the host thallus. Asci 8-spored, the spores hyaline, simple to 1-septate, (7.5-)10-11(-12) x 5-6(-7) µm. Micrographs below. Similar: Lichenochora aipoliae and Lichenochora physciicola have larger spores. Lichenochora obscuroides is usually found on Phaeophyscia orbicularis (rarely on Physcia spp.) and also has larger spores Polycoccum pulvinatum can appear similar but is usually found on Physcia caesia and has dark-brown, 1-septate spores |
