Diplotomma chlorophaeum Growth type crustose. 1st Dorset record of this species Chemical results: K+ yellow > red, C-, P+ yellow-orange Usually on slightly bird enriched acidic rocks in the 'orange-zone' on rocky shores, sea walls and on sandy mortar. Occasional in inland habitats Variable, the thallus either thick and white or thin and pale greyish, prothallus absent. Apothecia flat becoming convex and not pruinose, discs black and the thalline exciple soon disappearing. The spores are 3-septate to submuriform, 15-24(-27) x (7-)10-12 µm. Micrographs below.
