Verrucaria fusconigrescens Growth type crustose Chemical results negative Can be frequent on siliceous coastal rocks above HWM, sometimes also found some distance inland. Perithecia +/- half-immersed, apex projecting with +/- inconspicuous ostiole. Well-developed areolate brown thallus with a darker prothallus, sometimes locally pruinose.
