Cladoniaceae
 Cladonia portentosa Growth type fruticose. No primary squamules. Chemical results: K-, KC+ yellow, P- One of the 'Reindeer lichen' found on heaths, peaty moorland, dunes Variable. Forms loose compact tufts of very branched, whitish to green-grey thallus, the axils often perforate. Branchlet tips spread in all directions, branching mainly trichotomous but can be dichotomous at ends. Inflated, bloated morphs can occur in boggy habitats. Similar: Cladonia ciliata  |
