Photobiont Trentepohlia Very rare, in Britain and Ireland only recorded from limestone on the Isle of Portland, Dorset. Also known from southern France and Spain Thallus thin, epilithic or partly endolithic, pink when fresh, pale green-grey in the shade. Apothecia immersed or slightly superficial, white with radially split margins, the discs pinkish to pink-orange. Asci are 8-spored, the spores 3-5(-7) septate with conspicuous perispore, (15-)18-23 x 4-6 µm Similar: Petractis nodispora, spores 3-septate, multicellular conidia |
