On nutrient-rich, basic-barked roadside trees, occasional on rocks and walls

Loosely appressed thallus with short, radiating, greenish-brown lobes that are very pruinose at the tips and sometimes tinged purplish near the centre. Lower surface is dark brown at the centre but much paler towards the margins with dark, 'bottle-brush' rhizines. The lobes have abundant mainly marginal soralia intermixed with a few isidia. Apothecia are very rare
