Placynthiella dasaea Growth type crustose. Identification by Neil Sanderson Chemical results: Thallus K-, C+ red, KC+ red, Pd- (in microscope section) Occurs on rotting bark and lignum of Pinus and Ulex, occasional on timber and organically enriched soil. Areolate crust of brown or greenish coralloid goniocysts, becoming sorediate. Soredia globose, apothecia and pycnidia usually absent. Similar: Placynthiella icmalea |
