Micarea viridileprosa Growth type crustose. Identification by Neil Sanderson Thallus K-, C+ red, KC+ red, P-, UV-. Apothecia section C +/- red Probably overlooked, found on acid bark, wood and occasionally soil. Also found on dry heaths among leaf litter below heather and gorse. BLS conservation evaluation: LC NS Bright-green, leprose thallus, the goniocytes sometimes coalescing to form a granular crust. Usually sterile. Similar: Micarea micrococca is C-, M. xanthonica, KC+ orange and Micarea coppinsii has bluish-grey soralia |
