Leproplaca xantholyta (Caloplaca xantholyta) Growth type crustose, placodioid Chemical results: K+ red Found on damp, shaded limestone rocks, walls and church memorials. A leprose lemony-yellow or slightly greenish-tinged thallus, the surface powdery or minutely granulose and surrounded by +/- developed marginal lobes. The white medulla can be clearly seen where the surface of the thallus is eroded. Apothecia are unknown Similar: Chrysothrix chlorina is K- and occurs on siliceous rocks |
