Lecanora orosthea Growth type crustose Chemistry: K+ dirty-yellow > brownish, C-, KC+ yellow, UV+ dull orange Occurs on dry, vertical, siliceous rocks, walls and churchyard memorials. Also on bark of Birch and Beech Diffuse or areolate yellowish or yellow-green thallus, often with paler prothallus. Soralia form on margins of the areoles, the pale yellow soredia spreading to cover the thallus. Apothecia are rare. Probably the sorediate counterpart of Lecanora sulphurea Similar: L. expallens and saxicolous Pyrrhospora quernea C+ orange |
