Flavoplaca limonia (Caloplaca limonia) Growth type crustose Chemical results: K+ red Widespread and very common on walls, mortar and calcareous rocks. The dull or brighter yellow thallus is frequently slightly white-pruinose and forms an areolate crust. Areoles become covered by relatively large, pale yellow blastidia. Apothecia can be frequent, the margin sometimes with blastidia or isidia. Spores polarilucular, (9-)11-15 x (3-)5-8(-9) µm, septa slightly less than half the spore length in width. Previously included in the Flavoplaca citrina aggregate. |
