Mainly coastal on well-lit siliceous rocks
BLS conservation evaluation: LC NS

Initially parasitic on Lecanora gangaleoides before developing an independent mid to dark grey, non-pruinose, areolate thallus. Apothecia immersed and resembling perithecia, +/- pruinose. Asci 4-8 spored, spores muriform, becoming dark.
