Anisomeridium ranunculosporum Growth type crustose Chemical results negative Can be frequent on smooth areas of Oak and Ash bark in old, sheltered woodlands and it is a NIEC 'Old woodland' indicator species Tiny black perithecia (often +/- covered by bark cells) on a whitish or fawn thallus which often scratches orange and is often tinged pinkish. The spores are centrally constricted, tadpole-shaped, 1-septate, 14-16 x 4.5-5.7 µm. Both macroconidia and microconidia are frequent. |
