Usnea cornuta Growth type fruticose. Chemical results: Either medulla K+ yellow or orange-red, P+ orange, or K+ red, P+ orange to red Moderately pollution-resistant. Common on trees in the South and West, less frequently found on rocks. Bushy, +/- erect, greyish-green thallus, the base not blackened. Side branches are markedly constricted where joining main stem with small white dots that develop isidia and areas of granular soredia. Lax white medulla. Similar: Usnea subfloridana.
