Cladonia ramulosa Primary thallus squamulose, secondary thallus fruticose. Chemical results: K-, P+ red Acidic soils and rotting tree stumps, often coastal Very variable. Small, brittle, incised basal squamules, the undersides white. Erect podetia, surface with coarse squamules which peel to leave decorticate areas. Distinctive large brown apothecia becoming +/- transluscent when wet. Soredia absent. |
