Family: Gentianaceae Yellow-wort Blackstonia perfoliata Flowering time: June-September. Annual or biennial Can be found on calcareous, gravelly soils and in grassland and dunes in southern and central England and central Ireland Clusters of bright yellow flowers with 6-8 petals and a deeply divided calyx followed by globular seed-capsules. The greyish-green stem leaves are triangular-oval and fused in pairs round the stems. Height 15-40cm
