 Black Medick Medicago lupulina Flowering time: April-October. Perennial Grows on roadsides, grassland, walls and waste ground but prefers well-drained calcareous soils. Compact, stalked yellow flowers are followed by kidney-shaped netted seedpods which turn black when ripe. The trifoliate alternate leaves have toothed or untoothed leaflets with mucronate (pointed) tips. Scrambling growth to 75cm. Similar: Lesser Trefoil and Hop Trefoil have leaves without mucronate tips  |
