Family: Gentianaceae Autumn Gentian Gentianella amarella Flowering time: July-September. Annual or biennial. Habitat: Calcareous grassland and dunes. Erect tubular flowers with four or five purplish corolla-lobes, the calyx lobes narrow and not overlapping. Corolla 14-18mm. Rosette of oval-lanceolate basal leaves, the stem leaves in pairs. The single or branched stem is erect with ascending branches. Similar: G. campestris, Field Gentian. Four lobes, calyx lobes overlapping
