Perennial Often coastal, can be locally common on clay grassland in southern England Dense flat-topped umbels of flowers with bristle-like bracts and bracteoles followed by ribbed, cylindrical fruit with swollen corky bases. The lower leaves are twice-pinnate, upper leaves linear. Solid, grooved stems 30-80cm, roots with rounded tubers. |
